Summer Programs 2018 - Open to Current MetroLacrosse Participants

Date: August 12th-16th 
Eligibility: Current 5th-8th Graders (girls and boys who will be entering grades 6-9 this Sept.).
Registration: For current MetroLacrosse participants only. Registration closes May 21st.

SummerBounce is our annual overnight summer camp and highlight of our programming year. This year (2018) the camp will be held at Camp Cedar in Maine, and will feature 200 girls and boys from other urban lacrosse programs including Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Harlem, in addition to our participants from Boston and Chelsea. 

Players are selected by their programs to attend camp based on their commitment throughout the spring season, effort during practices and games, willingness to step out of their comfort zone, and their lacrosse skills.

Summer Academy Day Camp

Date: July 9th – August 10th, Monday-Friday, 8am-2pm
Location:
The Mildred Ave. School in Mattapan
Eligibility: Current 5th-8th Graders (players who will be entering grades 6-9 this Sept.).
Registration: For current MetroLacrosse participants only. Registration closes May 21st.

In partnership with Harlem Lacrosse-Boston, 25 current girls and boys will have the opportunity to attend the Summer Academy day program, hosted at the Mildred Ave. School in Mattapan. This camp is free, will include breakfast and lunch, and will be a combination of academic support (math/english) and lacrosse.

Coaches-in Training (CIT Program)

MetroLacrosse provides employment opportunities for 10-15 teen participants through its Coaches-In-Training and MLK Summer Scholars Program .  CITs are trained as coaches by MetroLacrosse staff and receive additional professional development training through the MLK Summer Scholares program.  The job is 8 weeks of coaching young people at various summer camps across the city.  CITs are responsible for all aspects of planning and executing sessions.  In addition to coaching, CITs are required to help with several small projects throughout the summer.

Dates: July 9th – August 24th
Eligibility: Current MetroLacrosse high school participants who are entering 10th, 11th, or 12th.
Registration: Open - Closes May 21st
